Slutty Brownies with Candied Bacon
Oh yes, that’s right. Just when you thought dessert couldn’t get any better, it did. Look at those gorgeous layers - a layer of cookie, layer of Oreo, layer of candied BACON, and topped with a layer of brownie. If you’ve ever needed the perfect over-the-top, decadent, and oh-so addictive dessert, let me tell you right now folks - this is IT.
Now I’ve had slutty brownies (there’s really no other way to describe them is there?) before, but there’s nothing like these brownies with a thick layer of delicious Pig of the Month candied bacon. The bacon adds the perfect amount of salt to cut through the richness of the other three delicious layers.
INSTRUCTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silpat or aluminum foil. In a medium bowl, add the bacon slices and brown sugar. Using your hands mix the bacon with the sugar until it is well-coated. Lay the bacon slices flat on the baking sheet. Sprinkle any remaining sugar on top. Bake for 20 minutes, until crispy and glossy. Remove from oven and set aside. Bring the cookie dough to room temperature so it is easy to work with. Create the brownies according to the instructions on the box.
Lightly coat a 9x9 baking dish with cooking spray. Spread the layer of cookie dough in an even layer in the bottom of the pan. Press down into the pan firmly.
Layer the Oreos on top in a single layer on top of the cookie dough. Layer as many slices of candied bacon as you can in one single payer on top of the Oreos.
Pour the brownie batter on top of the candied bacon and spread into an even layer. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean from the brownie layer. Cool for approximately 10-15 minutes before you slice (I know it’s hard to wait but it’s worth it!).
