Campfire S'mores Cones
Boy, do I love s’mores… Nothing screams campfire and summer quite like melted, gooey s’mores! Of course, regular ol’ s’mores can get a little boring. That’s why I am currently loving these campfire s’mores cones! Instead of being limited to the chocolate bar for your s’mores, you can experiment with all the different flavors of chocolate chips (and even non-chocolate chips such as Reese’s and butterscotch!).
It’s super simple and ready in minutes over the campfire so you don’t have to worry about burning your marshmallow or dropping your chocolate as you attempt to assemble your s’mores. Instead, it’s in a perfectly sized handheld vessel, just waiting for you to devour it.
Happy camping!
INSTRUCTIONS Allow each person to fill their own cone with their favorite combination of marshmallows and chocolate chips. For best results, add a small amount of chips, then mini marshmallows followed by one more layer of each. My secret combination is Reese’s Chips, marshmallows, dark chocolate chips and topped with more marshmallows… YUM!
Wrap each cone tightly in aluminum foil. If you are camping, heat the cones over the campfire for approximately 5 minutes. Try to get them standing up vertically if you can. If not, simply tent the tops a bit so all the s’mores goodness doesn’t stick to the foil. If you are at home (and wish you were camping), preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the cones for 5 to 8 minutes. Again, try to get them standing up vertically if you can. If not, simply tent the tops a bit so all the s’mores goodness doesn’t stick to the foil. Unwrap the cones from the foil carefully and serve. Recipe & Photos by Meghan Bassett
